Message from the President
Hello everyone and welcome to the Spring Edition of the Ramblers Newsletter. Spring is a wonderful time for enjoying some outdoor activities and we have a great program for you again.
Unfortunately, there are still a few gaps in the activities program and all leaders are encouraged to try and fill them either by entering something via the online Activity Submission Form or by contacting our Program Manager, Stuart Almond, directly. Come on everyone, don’t leave it to our faithful regulars, some new leaders with new ideas are very welcome and I think you will find it a most rewarding experience.
I am pleased to announce that Peter Jack, our club Treasurer, who volunteered to be our delegate to Bushwalking NSW, attended their AGM this week and has been elected Treasurer of that organisation. Congratulations Peter. Our club, together with some 60 other clubs are affiliated with Bushwalking NSW who amongst other duties negotiate and organise our insurance.
The AGM will be held on Saturday 12th October. Full details of the program for the day are in this newsletter. All committee positions are declared vacant at the AGM. However, we have received nominations for all except that of the Training Officer which has been re-named as Training & Special Interest Coordinator which more accurately reflects the great job that Ronda has been doing in this position. A brief job description of all committee positions appears in this Newsletter. Anyone wishing to nominate for a position should contact a Committee person.
Be sure to check out the notice regarding the Christmas Party. It will be held this year at a new venue, the Warilla Bowling Club. Mark the date 13th December in your diary. It’s always a great night and a good way to socialise with other members.
Talking of socialising, we are hoping to have more social get-togethers, hopefully one in each quarterly program. Anyone can propose a lunch venue which can be co-ordinated by the Training & Special Interest Co-ordinator.
Enjoy this upcoming season and I hope to meet you at the AGM.
