Pre-registration and number of participants are at the discretion of the leader.
Registration and participation implies your Acknowledgement of Risk and Obligations.
Members who are E-bike riders are required to take out individual insurance with Bicycle NSW. You need to login first then click here to get a 15% discount code.
E-bikes must meet the NSW Government requirements for permitted e-bikes.
Before participating in an activity, please familiarise yourself with our Grading and Guidelines and in particular, check that your equipment is in good condition.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time to prepare, sign on and be ready for the pre-activity briefing. Please do not attend any Ramblers Club activity if you are not feeling well.
Sat 23 May, 2026 Walk: Yarramunmun Valley Circuit, CANCELLED
CANCELLED – Due to track problems
Mostly on track (of a kind) traversing beautiful forest below the Deans Point cliff line along Basswood Trail. We will drop down to the creek for lunch and then follow a fire trail parallel to the creek until it meets Mintbush Trail returning up a big hill back to the cars. Ascent/descent 250m. Meeting place corner Turpentine and Nerriga Roads.
This is a combined walk with the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers.
Mon 25 May, 2026 Cycle: Oak Flats to Shellharbour via Blackbutt Forest
Ride from Skiway park past Shellharbour hospital, across bridge or tunnel over Lake Entrance road, over Stoney Ridge through Blackbutt Forest and across Shellharbour Road to have coffee at Shellharbour Surf Club. Return via Reddall Reserve and alongside lake to Skiway Park. Mainly shared pathways.
Tue 26 May, 2026 Cycle: Unanderra Station to Bombo
From Unanderra station follow shared path roadside to Fred Finch Park skirting the north side of Lake Illawarra before heading onto Windang, Shellharbour and Dunmore to a late coffee at Minnamurra cafe. Train from Bombo station.
This is a ride that gets better as it goes on, road, park, ocean ,casuarina wetland, more ocean……

Wed 27 May, 2026 Walk: Shell Cove to Killalea State Park
Walk starts at the new Marina at Shellcove, walking to Killalea State Park, around the Lagoon and return.

Morning paddle from the Ski Way Park Oak Flats.

Sat 30 May, 2026 Walk: Forest Path, Maddens Plains
A favourite walk from Maddens Plains to Mt Mitchell overlooking Stanwell Park. The vegetation is varied and we will enjoy some beautiful views down to the coast. A few hills to cope with but well worth the effort. A lovely walk to farewell autumn.

Sun 31 May, 2026 Walk: Maddens Plains, North from Sublime Point
Walk north from Sublime Point to the start of the Forest Path. Mainly fairly level with small undulations, and a short uphill section on boardwalk to finish. May see some wildflowers and hear whip birds. Bring morning tea and be home for lunch. A lovely easy grade 3 walk.
Wed 03 Jun, 2026 Cycle: Albion Park Rail to Shell Cove Links via Killalea
A regular favourite ride with a slight difference to celebrate World Bicycle Day.
Around the lake, via Oak Flats and Reddall Reserve to Barrack Point where we will briefly check for whales. Then continue up the hill into Shellharbour and on to Shell Cove. We’ll divert to Killalea, cycle down to the camp ground and back up, then via some back streets to the Links Golf Club for coffee. We’ll return to the lake using a more direct route by-passing Shellharbour. Lake and ocean views, mainly level bike paths, a short hill into Shellharbour and some climbing in Killalea. Make sure your batteries are fully charged!
In April 2018, the UN General Assembly declared June 3 as World Bicycle Day. The resolution for World Bicycle Day recognizes “the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport.”

Sat 13 Jun, 2026 Walk: Uloola Falls Track
Beautiful walk through the Royal National park, down to Uloola Falls and then on to Karloo pools, past sandstone rocks and heathland. Steep climb out at the end so bring plenty of water. We will have to catch the train back to waterfall at the end of the walk.

Sat 04 Jul, 2026 Walk: Stanwell Creek South
This walk has sections that range from Grade 1 to 4!! The Grade 4 section is sustained and involves rock hopping, scrambling up a creek and scrub bashing. Participants need to be appropriately skilled.
Starting at Stanwell Tops, we’ll follow the Wodi Wodi track to its junction with Stanwell Creek. Weather permitting, there will be the opportunity for a swim in a picturesque waterhole. We then continue upstream following the south branch of the creek passing several pretty waterfalls to the escarpment where we make a side trip to an interesting overhang. On returning to the waterfall at the top of the escarpment we continue south until we can climb out to Coalcliff Dam. From there we make our way back to Stanwell Tops. If the water level in the creek is not too high, we should keep our feet dry.

Sat 29 Aug, 2026 Walk: Lost World
This walk is for capable, intrepid walkers who are sure of foot and can move with confidence over rough ground. Starting on the Mount Bushwalker Road roughly 1.5km before the car park we’ll walk out to Asplenium Pass which we’ll descend into the Lost World. From there we’ll make our way through both Secret Gardens taking in Battleship Bow and The Giant Fig Tree. We’ll then make our way back to the cars via Zig Zag Pass.
This is a beautiful walk with amazing views!
This is a combined walk with Shoalhaven bushwalkers.

Expressions of interest are invited to ride the iconic Otago Rail Trail in New Zealand.
4th to 7th March 2027
152 kms over 4 days on a wide compacted gravel surface. The landscape is stunning and will be embellished in Autumn colours.
The company Trail Journeys provides bike hire, including e-bikes, accommodation for 3 nights, daily luggage transfers, transport from Queenstown to start the ride and to Dunedin at end of ride, full briefing, detailed maps and call support throughout the journey.
Trail Journey’s quote is approximately A$1700 for these 4 days of self guided cycling. I will book this as a Rambler’s group.
Some of us are flying to Queenstown on 2nd March and flying out of Dunedin on 9th March 2027. This will give us a day before the ride in Queenstown and a day after the ride in Dunedin.
Participants will need to book flights, and accommodation in Queenstown and Dunedin, themselves. I will advise where we are staying and flight numbers for people who want to travel as a group.
