It’s the start of another year.
The Club has continued its impressive advances. Our basic fare of bushwalking, cycling and paddling has grown, as has the membership, all enabled by administrative development and keen efforts by the Committee.
The health of the Club is demonstrated by the strong number of membership renewals. We must be doing something right. The growth can surely be attributed to the general attractiveness of the Club, the boost in IT and the indefatigable efforts of the Publicity Officer and other committee members.
We have to be appreciative of the efforts of our leaders, particularly those who lead tours away and events over several days. If you are not a leader already, please have a go at it, it’s good for you and the Club.
After two years as President, I now stand down as required by the Constitution. I take the opportunity of saying how wonderful it has been to preside with such an excellent committee. I can claim I was the captain of the All Stars – a long way from the best player but I wore the badge.
And please come along to the Annual General Meeting on Saturday 7 March, we look forward to seeing you there.
Fred Morrison
President
