Good news!  Kathmandu has once again invited the Illawarra Ramblers to be involved in their upcoming “Gear Up” event.  Discounts of up to 60% across all Kathmandu branded full price outdoor and travel gear will be available to Ramblers Club members at the Shellharbour and Wollongong stores from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 November.

A reminder about the AGM and Christmas Party which will start at 10.00am on Saturday 25th November 2023 at the Rhododendron Gardens, Mount Pleasant – see details.  To register, please send an email to illawarraramblers.com no later than Sunday 19 November.

The Annual General Meeting will start promptly at 10.30am.  As is always the process, all positions on the committee will be declared vacant.   We are keen to hear from anyone who may be interested in a role in the management of our club.  We can always benefit from new faces and new ideas.   If anyone is interested in joining the committee, please speak to a current committee member or send an email to illawarraramblers.com.au.  The elected positions are:

President,  Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Program Manager, Website Manager, Publicity Officer, Newsletter Editor, Activities Recorder, Training Officer, Welfare Officer.  Position descriptions are available on request.

As I have held the position of President for two consecutive years, I will be stepping down as President as is required by our Constitution. So we will definitely be needing someone to take on the President’s job.. There are a number of members who having been active in the club for a few years, and having held committee or board positions in other clubs and organisations, would be well qualified for the role.  We are a vibrant club with a great team of people on the committee and a large enthusiastic membership.  We need someone to guide us as we continue to go from strength to strength in the years to come.  So please consider.
