Sue Martin passed away on Wednesday 14 August at home with her family around her. She had battled cancer for a few years, but was always hopeful about becoming well enough to continue the activities and interests she had always enjoyed.

Sue was an active member of the Illawarra Ramblers Club. She was very knowledgeable and had an enthusiasm for life and adventure. A member for many years, she led a number of interesting walks including some in the Wollongong area, promoting the Botanic Gardens and many local parks that some of us didn’t even know about. She was also a keen photographer and with Russell Verdon led an interesting and instructive walk at Barren Grounds in 2021. As always in Spring, there was an abundance of wildflowers. It was an opportunity for aspiring photographers to enjoy taking photographs with the benefit of some coaching along the way.  Something different but appreciated and enjoyed by those who participated.

Sue will be missed by all who knew her and enjoyed her company on the walks.

A service for Sue Martin will be held at H.R. Parsons Funeral Directors, 34 Belmore St. Wollongong at 12:00pm on Friday 23rd August.
