Pre-registration and number of participants are at the discretion of the leader.
Registration and participation implies your Acknowledgement of Risk and Obligations.
Members who are E-bike riders are required to take out individual insurance with Bicycle NSW. You need to login first then click here to get a 15% discount code. E-bikes must meet the NSW Government requirements for permitted e-bikes.
Before participating in an activity, please familiarise yourself with our Grading and Guidelines and in particular, check that your equipment is in good condition.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time to prepare, sign on and be ready for the pre-activity briefing. Please do not attend any Ramblers Club activity if you are not feeling well.
Mon 15 Dec, 2025 Cycle: Skiway Park to Albion Park
Around the lake and via Macquarie Rivulet to the cycle path alongside the freeway. After crossing Tongarra Road we cycle through Croom Reserve then back across Tongarra Road and on to HARS for coffee. A slightly shorter route back to Skiway. Lake and pastoral views.
Tue 16 Dec, 2025 Cycle: Wolli Creek to Drummoyne (NEW)
All Illawarra Stations train to Wolli Creek 7:08 Port Kembla, 7:18 Coniston, 7:23 North Gong, 7 ;27 Towradgi, 7:39 Thirroul, 7 ;44 Coledale. Riders coming from the Dapto line board 6:54 at Oak Flats etc CHANGE at Coniston and wait 3 minutes for the train from Port Kembla.
Head off towards Dulwich Hill on the Cooks River Trail, ride the GREENway to the Bay Run crossing Iron Cove Bridge, more Bay Run back to the Greenway, Dulwich Hill and Wolli Creek. Train home. Ride the long awaited link connecting the Cooks River to Iron Cove adjacent to the Light Rail.

Wed 17 Dec, 2025 Walk: Mt Keira Ring Track
We will start at Byarong Park and walk Mt Keira ring track in a clockwise direction. A steady uphill walk to start with then steeper down and then up with steps. The main flight of steps will be downhill followed by the rainforest section. Morning walk with an early start.
Thu 18 Dec, 2025 Paddle: Lake Illawarra
Morning paddle on Lake Illawarra. Paddle is weather dependent, so starting point may change.

Fri 19 Dec, 2025 Walk: Port Kembla Foreshore
Walk to the end of the Eastern breakwater and back, then onto Red Point via MM beach, Fishermans Beach. A steep climb to the top of Hill 60, down to Port Kembla pool then coffee and cake at Rach’s. Return to the car park.
Fri 19 Dec, 2025 Cycle: Stuart Park to Thirroul
Easy coastal ride. Cycle path and best beach scenery. Mostly flat and relaxed riding. A couple of stops. Coffee at Thirroul.
Ride terminates at Thirroul. Return to start at own pace.
Start 7:30 am Arrive by 7:15 for briefing.
Sat 20 Dec, 2025 Walk: Sublime point to start forest walk and return
Start early for bush track under tree cover from sublime point to start of forest track walk. Finish before lunch before it gets too hot. No mountains, some boardwalk.

Sun 21 Dec, 2025 Walk: Summer Solstice Sunrise Walk
Come along with your breakfast and watch the sunrise before an early morning leg stretcher. After the walk it’s optional to share some morning tea before going home. Very early start and early finish to beat the heat.
Mon 22 Dec, 2025 Cycle: Wombarra Station to Coniston Station
On the early, slow, fairly empty all stations train leaving Port Kembla at 7:08, Coniston 7:18 North Wollongong 7:23, Towradgi 7:27, Thirroul 7:39, arrive Wombarra 7:47.
If coming from between Kiama and Unanderra, catch the 6:37 from Kiama, 6:50 from Shellharbour, 7:04 from Dapto, etc.
Get off at Coniston and wait 3 minutes for the train from Port Kembla.
On this date there should be no school traffic. There is a 60 metre uphill start then very quiet and pleasant 5km backstreet traverse to Austinmer, then steep downhill. From Thirroul onto usual coastal shared path to coffee at Longboard cafe at City Beach. Finally ride 4km to Coniston station.

Sun 15 Feb, 2026 Trip Away: Walking in the Snowy Mountains
Three days walking in the Snowy Mountains based in a private lodge in Guthega. The walks will generally be grade 3 but it is hoped to also offer easier walks for those wanting to be a bit more relaxed. More information will be supplied on registration of interest.

Wed 25 Feb, 2026 Walk: Bass Point and Bushrangers Bay
Walk from the southern edge of Shellcove to Bass Point and then on to Bushrangers Bay for morning tea. Walking on sand, rock shelves and pebbles with some scrambling over rocks.
Sun 15 Mar, 2026 Trip Away: Autumn walks in Canberra
Series of grade 3 to 3½ walks over four days including Namadgi NP, Tidbinbilla NR and Mulligans Flat NR. Suggested accommodation is at a tourist park which is best to book early. Hard limit of 16 walkers applies so won’t be long till a waiting list develops. Autumn should be nice in Canberra.

Wed 18 Mar, 2026 Paddle: Paddle Lake Yarrunga/Tallowa Dam
Paddling Lake Yarrunga from Tallowa Dam up the Shoalhaven River to Fossickers Flat; camping the night there, and then paddling to Hideaway Camping area on the Kangaroo River; camping there the night, and then paddling back to Tallowa Dam.
A paddle to see beautiful scenery and to introduce those new to kayak camping to the equipment required and the joys involved!
Mon 20 Apr, 2026 Paddle: Paddle the Murray River from Tocumwal to Moama including the Barmah Lake/forest
Starting at Tocumwal, after a car shuffle to leave vehicles in Moama, paddling for 5 or 6 days down the Murray to Moama through the Barmah National Park. Camping will be by the river with all requirements to be carried by participants. Possible exploration of Barmah Lake.
