Pre-registration and number of participants are at the discretion of the leader.
Registration and participation implies your Acknowledgement of Risk and Obligations.
Members who are E-bike riders are required to take out individual insurance with Bicycle NSW. You need to login first then click here to get a 15% discount code.
E-bikes must meet the NSW Government requirements for permitted e-bikes.
Before participating in an activity, please familiarise yourself with our Grading and Guidelines and in particular, check that your equipment is in good condition.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time to prepare, sign on and be ready for the pre-activity briefing. Please do not attend any Ramblers Club activity if you are not feeling well.
Sun 19 Jul, 2026 Walk: Lookouts and more lookouts at Carrington Falls
Graham’s !0km or so Sunday Walk Series.
We’ll do all the tracks to all the lookouts and the two natural pools. Lots or great views and nice bush. Bring morning tea and lunch. Meeting place will be entry to the National Park on Cloonty Rd, just down from Jamberoo Mtn Rd. We’ll drive to the parking spot from there. Register to get start time. Mon 20 Jul, 2026 Cycle: Minnamurra to Kendalls Beach
Cycle from Minnamurra, through Kiama Downs and Bombo to Kiama and then along the coast to Kendalls Beach and Bonaira Reserve returning to Diggies at the information centre for coffee. Some steep hills including Minnamura Headland and Cathedral Rocks.

Tue 21 Jul, 2026 Cycle: Albion Park Rail to Bass Point
Around the lake via Oak Flats to Reddall Reserve, then Barrack Point, Shellharbour and Shell Cove. From The Shallows, we’ll cycle along the recently sealed Bass Point Tourist Road to the Bass Point carpark, enjoy the view, look for whales then return to Shellharbour North Beach Kiosk for coffee. Mainly shared paths, short hill into Shellharbour. Lake and ocean views. In Bass Point Reserve, the road is narrow and there are no shoulders, a short section is limited to 10 km/h.
Wed 22 Jul, 2026 Social: Lunch
In the past, the club has enjoyed social events during the year. This hasn’t happened for a while, so get your party clothes on as there will be a mingling of paddlers, walkers and peddlers at a luncheon to be held at the Yacht Club. Even better, there will be a prize for the best Rambler Hat!

Sun 26 Jul, 2026 Walk: Minnamurra Falls – celebration of National Tree Day
Starting at the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre, enjoy spectacular rainforest, waterfall and canyon views from several viewing platforms along 4.2km Minnamurra Falls walk. Amble along the elevated walkway and paved track. Option to walk up steep track up to the top waterfall, or continue along the more gentle loop track.

Leisurely coastal walk along path from Shellharbour Beach to Barrack Point with great views of the Tasman Sea to Winding Bay and return.

Sat 01 Aug, 2026 Walk: Macquarie Pass Top to Bottom
A Rambler’s classic and one to tick off the ‘to do list’ before possible NPWS closure (fun police). Descend from Mt Murray Rd to the bottom car park. The walk takes us down an old bullock track before off track to Narrewin Farm. Cross the Hwy and off track to Cover Hill Rd. More off track and track to cross the Hwy again. Fire trail to the top of the Cascades then steep descent through the Cascades (very scenic), returning to the cars at the bottom. Car shuffle required between bottom and top.

Sat 08 Aug, 2026 Walk: Boongan Mountain Hike
This is an off track walk with the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers. It will be in the Jerrawangala NP, Starting from the Butterbush Road/Yarran Road junction, we’ll walk east until we access the track that takes us to the top of the Stairway to Heaven trail bike track. We’ll descend this. How do you describe the reverse of Stairway to Heaven? Descent into Hell? In search of Orpheus? Its really not that bad! After crossing the creek at the bottom (The Styx?), we’ll ascend to the safe haven of Boongan Mountain. To finish off, we’ll descend to the base of the escarpment – possible fossil sightings in the rock for the sharp eyed – before ascending a rock climbers’ ladder which leads us to the track to our cars.
Sun 09 Aug, 2026 Walk: Seven Mile Beach bush and beach

The lesser walked most southern unnamed bush track to Shoalhaven Heads. Return via beach. Bring morning tea and lunch. Meeting place will be main picnic area, turn east at Cnr of Gerroa Rd and Beach Rd south of Gerroa. Car pool from there to start of walk. Register to get start time. Fri 14 Aug, 2026 Walk: Mullet Creek
Park cars near numbers 3,5 & 7 Thirroul Road Kanahooka adjacent to the roundabout at Forest Grove Road & Kanahooka Road. We’ll walk almost entirely on shared path to the mouth of Mullet Creek. We may visit another section of Mullet Creek on the return journey near Brooks Terrace Reserve not far from the Passionate Palace Coffee Shop in Forest Grove. If so, the walk distance could increase by half a kilometre.
Koffee at Passionate Palace at end of walk. Another Friday 5k and Koffee walk.
Sun 16 Aug, 2026 Walk: Katoomba Lookout (Boxvale) and 40’ Falls, Mittagong
Graham’s 10km or so Sunday walks series.
Some of Boxvale Track remains closed but this variation provides a nice day out. We’ll head out and back to the falls, then out and back to the lookout. Bring morning tea and lunch. Meeting place will be carpark at Lake Alexandra reserve at north end of Queen St Mittagong. Car pool from there to start of walk. Register to get start time. Graham’s 10km or so Sunday walks series.
Station to station walk. Minnamurra headland, rocky bit to Jones Beach, beach and path to the Bone Yard, Bombo headland, Bombo beach, rock platform to Kiama. Bring morning tea and lunch (probably lunch at Kiama). Can drive or train to start but it’s Opal card for return. Could even drop car at Kiama early and train to start. Register to get start time. Sat 29 Aug, 2026 Walk: Lost World
This walk is for capable, intrepid walkers who are sure of foot and can move with confidence over rough ground. Starting on the Mount Bushwalker Road roughly 1.5km before the car park we’ll walk out to Asplenium Pass which we’ll descend into the Lost World. From there we’ll make our way through both Secret Gardens taking in Battleship Bow and The Giant Fig Tree. We’ll then make our way back to the cars via Zig Zag Pass.
This is a beautiful walk with amazing views!
This is a combined walk with Shoalhaven bushwalkers.
Sun 06 Sep, 2026 Walk: Port Kembla hill, beaches, rocks and paths
Graham’s 10km or so Sunday walks series.
Climb the hill from the swimming pool, views from Hill 60, down to Red Point, Fisho’s beach, rock platform to MM beach, southern breakwater and return via optional cafe stop. Home for lunch. Meeting place will be Port Kembla swimming pool carpark. Register to get start time.

Tue 15 Sep, 2026 Trip Away: Walking Munjip Trail, Batemans Bay area.
The Munjip Trail is a two day walk from Batehaven south to McKenzies Beach. The total walk is about 15-18 km but we will take our time and enjoy the views and spring flowers. I am staying at NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort for the nights of 15 and 16 September, heading home after the walk on the 17 September. You will be responsible for booking your own accommodation at the park or elsewhere. Please contact me for any further information and to register your interest.

From Coniston Station walk towards Mangerton. Both coming and going we will walk to or through the small though magnificent Mangerton Park. Koffee at the delightful Corner Store.
A train all stations south from Helensburgh and beyond arrives at Coniston at 8:20.
A train all stations north from Kiama arrives at Coniston at 8:34

Tue 02 Mar, 2027 Cycle: Otago Rail Trail, New Zealand
Expressions of interest are invited to ride the iconic Otago Rail Trail in New Zealand.
4th to 7th March 2027
152 kms over 4 days on a wide compacted gravel surface. The landscape is stunning and will be embellished in Autumn colours.
The company Trail Journeys provides bike hire, including e-bikes, accommodation for 3 nights, daily luggage transfers, transport from Queenstown to start the ride and to Dunedin at end of ride, full briefing, detailed maps and call support throughout the journey.
Trail Journey’s quote is approximately A$1700 for these 4 days of self guided cycling. I will book this as a Rambler’s group.
Some of us are flying to Queenstown on 2nd March and flying out of Dunedin on 9th March 2027. This will give us a day before the ride in Queenstown and a day after the ride in Dunedin.
Participants will need to book flights, and accommodation in Queenstown and Dunedin, themselves. I will advise where we are staying and flight numbers for people who want to travel as a group.
