Members who are E-bike riders are required to take out individual insurance with Bicycle NSW.  You need to login first then click here to get a 15% discount code.
E-bikes must meet the NSW Government requirements for permitted e-bikes.

Before participating in an activity, please familiarise yourself with our Grading and Guidelines and in particular, check that your equipment is in good condition. 

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time to prepare, sign on and be ready for the pre-activity briefing.   Please do not attend any Ramblers Club activity if you are not feeling well.

(Extra Listing). With this new, very special ride, twice having been booked out and become subject to waitlist, it is again being offered before the end of daylight saving. With the end of daylight saving  some southern riders would not get home before dark.

The route is slightly varied to previously. It will include all the bridges, Sydney Harbour, Pyrmont, Anzac, Iron Cove, 3 over Cooks river, 2 over street or water in Scarborough Wetlands and finally Captain Cook Bridge at Taren Point. New inclusions are the Rozelle Wetlands and within part of Callan Park

Non bike path, or shared path or designated on road bike route  accounts for less than 1 kilometre of the 47 kilometre route. This is a full day out. The most likely trains home from Sutherland are 3:55 or 4:25. Almost entirely flat except for some bridge approaches. Coffee at PPK Pyrmont. Lunch most likely at Wolli Creek.

Paddling Lake Yarrunga from Tallowa Dam up the Shoalhaven River to Fossickers Flat; camping the night there, and then paddling to Hideaway Camping area on the Kangaroo River; camping there the night, and then paddling back to Tallowa Dam.

A paddle to see beautiful scenery and to introduce those new to kayak camping to the equipment required and the joys involved!

Easy ride from Stuart Park Wollongong to Thirroul Beach Pavilion, Thirroul, for a ‘cyclist coffee’.

A Goldilocks Ride: We will ride with the greatest of grace, being not too fast and not too slow. Being on our best behaviour by riding safely, keeping mostly single file, exhibiting a high level of concentration on the task at hand, and not terrifying others on the shared path.

We will stop at Sandon Point and ensure we have all cyclists with us and praise each others’ gracious riding behaviour; after all we are Ramblers and our behaviour is always exemplary. The ride ends at Thirroul Beach Cafe, Thirroul. Cyclists will need to make their own way home after an exhilarating ride.

Specific Hazards: Other cyclists' poor overtaking technique, those who walk on the path without looking and young pedestrians who are not aware of the dangers, off least dogs and those on long leaches. Specific Abilities: Ability to cycle graciously, and be alert to hazards on the shared path

Sat 21 Mar, 2026   Walk: Marley track to Wedding Cake Rock and Bundeena

This walk will start at the head of the Marley Track on Bundeena Drive. There will be a car shuffle to Bundeena where we will leave a car to return to the start. The walk winds down Big Marley track to the large sand dunes at Big Marley beach. We will continue north along the very scenic coastal track to Bundeena.

A fairly steep ascent from Mt. Kembla Lookout to the plateau and on to the summit for extensive views of the Illawarra coastline. Return to the ring track for a 5km circuit around Mt. Kembla through a section of rain forest. Finally, a walk on 3 stages of the Mt. Kembla miners memorial pathway containing signage explaining the history of the area. On tracks, fire trails and short section of a quiet road. Features a variety of scenic views and forestry.

Train to Circular Quay. Ferry to Manly. Ride on bike paths, shared paths, bike paths on road & near Curl Curl, onroad.  Ferry back to Circular Quay with train from there, or Martin Place. Coffee oceanfront at Dee Why. Please bring lunch to eat lakeside.

Change trains at Town Hall. The  train from Kiama leaves Albion Park at 7:33 and Thirroul at 8:08

This ride done a number of times before has been added to with the upgrade to the Long Reef access. This is a great all day outing, in the programme just before daylight saving ends.

The Cove to Cooks is an environmental and active travel corridor linking Parramatta River at Iron Cove to Cooks River at Earlwood. It mainly follows the route of the Light Rail with walk/bike paths, with cultural and historical sites.

Mon 20 Apr, 2026   Paddle: Paddle the Murray River from Tocumwal to Moama including the Barmah Lake/forest

Starting at Tocumwal, after a car shuffle to leave vehicles in Moama, paddling for 5 or 6 days down the Murray to Moama through the Barmah National Park.  Camping will be by the river with all requirements to be carried by participants.  Possible exploration of Barmah Lake.

NEARLY FULLY BOOKED – Register with leader before making an accommodation booking.

A 3 night weekend to walk a couple of sections of the  Murramarang South Coast Walk. We did some southern sections with John last year so we’ll concentrate on northern sections this time. Grade 3 up to 10km per day, hilly or rocky at times. Option for a second leader to take on more.
We’ll be on our way back from Victoria and I’ve booked a site at Pretty Beach NPWS camping area – arriving Friday 15th May, departing Monday 18th. If any members would like to join us make your own booking either at the camping area or cabins etc at Ingenia Holiday Park Merry Beach which is only 1km or so back along the road.

Calling for expressions of interest in a week long (Aug 26 to Sept 2) Wet Tropics World Heritage Area exploration. Specially designed itinerary by Trade Travel to include flights to and from Cairns, visits to local rainforest, talks by local experts on rainforest and reef, visit to art deco town Innisfail, guided excursions from Mission Beach into national parks and islands with historical/scientific talks and easy walks. Options to visit the reef and extend your stay.  Joint trip with National Parks Association. Initiated by NPA Book Club from discussion of Iain McCalman’s biography of conservationist pioneer John Busst.
